This paper presents a novel valve capable of switching the pressure automatically by self-excited vibration instead of using electrically driven valves. Recently, pneumatic soft robots are developed actively which can move narrow environments by taking advantage of its flexibility. Generally, solenoid valves are used to control pneumatic chambers, but they are not necessarily applicable in environments where explosion-proof performance is required such as chemical plants. Therefore, we propose the soft and small valve to switch the pressure between two chambers and examined its function experimentally. Finally, the validity of our proposing method is verified by implementing it on a pneumatic mobile robot.
